Gary King, Founder

Gary King is the Weatherhead University Professor at Harvard University -- one of 26 with Harvard's most distinguished faculty title -- and Director of the Institute for Quantitative Social Science. He is an Elected Fellow in 8 honorary societies including the National Academy of Sciences and has won more than 50 prizes and awards for his work. He has published more than 150 scholarly journal articles, 20 software packages, 8 books, and 6 patents.

King created and led OpenScholar as an open source project at Harvard and co-founded the company with Jess Drislane. He is also co-founder and an inventor of the original technology for Crimson Hexagon, Learning Catalytics (acquired by Pearson), Perusall, Thresher, and other firms.

King received a B.A. from SUNY New Paltz and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He likes to mountain bike, ski, and start great companies.
